The Candidate: The Database Architect will function as an integral member of the product engineering team that is building the VOZIQ platform, a breakthrough Analytics platform that can process billions of data records using a cluster of Cloud Infrastructure instances. We believe that small, empowered, self-motivated teams can do big things.
Key responsibilities:
• Vision & Strategy: Derive a compelling vision and strategic direction for our data products in consultation with senior management, that aligns with overall organizational goals and customer requirements.
• Technical Oversight: Lead the technical design and architectural decisions for scalable and efficient data products, ensuring optimal utilization of our data assets.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate collaboration among engineering, data science, and business teams. Translate business needs into technical specifications, ensuring developed solutions meet these requirements.
• User Research: Conduct user research to gather insights into user needs and pain points, using this information to inform product development and prioritize high-impact features.
• Data Governance: Implement robust data governance frameworks, establishing standards for data quality and consistency across our Data Lake and other platforms, while ensuring compliance with data security and privacy regulations.
• Performance Monitoring: Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for data products to assess success and identify areas for improvement.
• Documentation & Delivery: Write detailed functional specifications and work closely with engineering teams to ensure successful feature releases.
Qualifications:
Experience: 10+ years of overall work experience, with at least 3 years in a Database Architect or related role, specializing in data products.
Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of data schemas, Amazon Redshift, Amazon S3, and experience with Data Lakes. Proven experience in designing and managing large-scale data infrastructure projects.
Analytical Skills: Working knowledge of current analytical technologies, data warehouse design, and business intelligence best practices.
Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.
Communication: Strong communication skills, capable of conveying complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred
